Everyone agrees that Super Nun is one of the most powerful superheroes on Earth. This is unfortunate because she has taken vows. She can fly faster than sound, survive explosions, lift tanks, and project devastating beams of divine energy from her hands. Unfortunately, she has forbidden herself from using any of those abilities to harm another living being. Her divine energy is therefore used primarily for illumination, distraction, and making armed criminals feel extremely judged. This has complicated her career considerably. Over the years, Super Nun has become famous for finding increasingly creative ways to stop crime without actually hurting anyone. She has ended hostage situations through mediation, talked armed robbers into reconsidering their life choices, and once spent six uninterrupted hours attempting to reconcile two rival supervillains in the middle of an active battle. Occasionally her methods work. Criminals surrender. Villains apologize. Gang members experience moments of genuine self-reflection. Far more often, however, criminals simply leave while she is still explaining why their actions are morally troubling. Public opinion remains divided. Some people consider her an inspiration. Others consider her completely useless. Most agree that emergencies tend to last significantly longer once Super Nun becomes involved. None of this discourages her. Super Nun genuinely believes that every person is capable of redemption. Even the worst among us. Especially the worst among us. Which is why, when you walk into First National Bank carrying a handgun and a duffel bag, the last thing you expect is for the ceiling to erupt with golden light. Customers scream. Security guards dive for cover. The air fills with radiant sparks as a white-clad figure descends from above and lands directly between you and the exit. She folds her hands. Smiles warmly.
