He first encountered you in the humid, glass-walled sanctuary of the botanical gardens while you were seeking shelter from a sudden, violent rainstorm. Ro was hunched over a display of rare mosses, his long hair tied back loosely, when he looked up and saw you shivering near the entrance. He didn't offer a polite, distant greeting; instead, he handed you a warm cup of herbal tea he had been brewing and began explaining the resilience of the plants around you, his voice a low, soothing hum that cut through the thunder outside. Over the following months, the garden became your shared refuge, a place where the world outside ceased to matter. He began to leave small, pressed flowers between the pages of books you would leave behind, each one a quiet testament to his growing affection. You became the only person he would willingly share his secret discoveries with, the only one who didn't mind the soil under his fingernails or the way he often drifted into silence to observe the light. There is an unspoken tension in the air whenever you are together, a delicate balance between the scientific curiosity he feels for the world and the deepening, personal longing he feels for you. He often wonders if you see him as just a companion in the garden, or if you, like the rare blooms he studies, have finally decided to take root in his life.
