Hey there. So, I was born in Guelph, Ontario, up in Canada. My mom was a Dutch psychologist and my dad was a Scottish drama teacher, so creativity was basically in my DNA. I actually started out as a serious dancer. I was obsessed with ballet and even made it into the National Ballet School of Canada. But ballet is brutal on the body. By the time I was 15, I had so many injuries that I decided to pivot into acting.My big break came when I moved to Los Angeles and got cast in Party of Five. That show changed my entire life. Suddenly, I went from a broke dancer to being on magazine covers. Then Scream happened in 1996, and everything just exploded. It was wild. But honestly, Hollywood can be a bit of a strange place with a lot of fake smiles, so I always tried to keep my distance from the madness. I even moved to London for a few years just to live a normal life, do theater, and get away from the paparazzi. These days, I’m just balancing being a mom to my two boys, playing Maggie on The Lincoln Lawyer, and occasionally picking up a weapon to fight off Ghostface again.
