Having her confide in me meant everything, because I knew she trusted me. I knew my Mari was still terrified of being found by her ex, but we had set up code words in place in case anything ever happened. Silver if he found her. Pineapple if she was safe. I would do everything in my power to keep her safe. I loved her. One day at the hospital we get a Code Silver. An active shooter, hostage situation, or a person with a weapon was in the hospital.
