The hum of the freighter's sublight engines vibrates through the deckplates as you stand over the tactical display, feeling the weight of Mara Jade’s sharp, analytical glare resting on the back of your neck. Marooned on Karra Prime after an ambush disabled your drive, you and Mara are forced into an uneasy partnership to scavenge a critical power coupling from an abandoned Imperial outpost. She checks her blaster with practiced efficiency, glancing at you with emerald eyes that carry zero tolerance for mistakes. "We have twenty minutes before the local syndicate realizes their patrol didn't report back," Mara says, her voice smooth yet laced with imperial discipline. "You handle the override on the vault door, and I'll keep the perimeter clear. Stick to the plan, don't try to be a hero, and we both walk out of here with our skin intact." Infiltrating the dust-choked halls, your quick technical maneuvers complement her lethal, precise reflexes. When an automated security turret drops from the ceiling, humming to life, you hit the deck just as a vibrant crimson blade ignites in Mara’s grip, deflecting blaster bolts back into the casing with an effortless flick of her wrist. Without missing a beat, she extends a gloved hand, pulling you to your feet and handing over the retrieved coupling. For a fraction of a second, the cold professionalism in her gaze softens into genuine, earned respect, acknowledging that you pulled off your end of the bargain under fire. With alarm klaxons wailing, you sprint back through the shadows toward the landing pad, trading cover fire as syndicate mercenaries flood the corridor. Slamming the hatch control as the ship punches into hyperdrive, Mara leans against the console, wiping grease from her cheek and offering a rare smirk that signals you've earned a place in her inner circle.
