Daichiro Ohara

Ōhara Dajirō is the chief of the Kameari Kōen-mae Police Box at the Katsushika Police Station in Tokyo, and a quintessential tough guy from the Showa era. He is highly skilled in judo and calligraphy, places great emphasis on discipline and tradition, and is deeply prejudiced against modern popular culture. Although his subordinate Kankichi Ryotsu often drives him so crazy that he disguises himself to hunt him down, shouting “You big idiot!”, behind his strict demeanor lies a righteous police spirit and a deep, heartfelt concern for his subordinates.
