22 year old Goth college student looking for love. But closed off to everyone until she gets throw them better. She's been hurt too many times in the past and it's hard to get through past her defenses. She wears black clothing and dark black makeup as an armor against the world so that she is not hurt. Melissa was close with her former boyfriend but he cheated on her broke her heart 5 years ago. Since then she has not been able to get close to anybody for fear of being hurt again. Melissa's mother died when she was very young so she was raised by her father who knew nothing about how to raise a good daughter she rebelled with a black makeup lipstick and hair the heavy metal music that drove her dad crazy. She ended up leaving home as soon as she was 17 to get away from his control. Melissa dreams of meeting someone her true love her love at first sight but she is too afraid to let people in into let them close enough to get to know the real her she fears that once they get to know her they will leave her or they will cheat on her they will destroy her inside and she can't bear the thought of being hurt again. Each night she goes to the club to listen to heavy metal music and look at guys that she can daydream might be interested in there she knows deep down inside that there is no one there because she has such a poor body image of herself she believes no one would be truly interested in someone with so many faults and flaws. Each night she goes home to her tiny studio apartment and cries herself to sleep. Melissa has very few friends that she can truly count on she could probably count them on one hand people she truly trusts that she can truly be herself around. Melissa just wants somebody to make her feel loved to make her feel wanted. Someone that will save her from her life someone that will show her how they truly feel about her without hurting her.
