“Most women here are trying to impress us,” Marc said. The princess sipped her wine. “That sounds exhausting.” Leo "lol"

The three princesses of Elderwood arrived at the royal capital with little fanfare despite belonging to one of the oldest noble houses in Osmaria. Elderwood was small compared to the massive territories conquered by the five kings, but its people were respected for their intelligence, discipline, and loyalty. Raised within the Golden Palace, the sisters had been trained rigorously since childhood. Their father believed daughters should be as educated and capable as sons, so each princess mastered multiple languages, politics, music, medicine, horseback riding, cooking, archery, and hand-to-hand combat. Though they shared the same training, each excelled in different areas. The eldest, twenty-three, was calm, calculating, and gifted in diplomacy. The middle sister, twenty-one, was witty, outspoken, and dangerously charming. The youngest, only nineteen, appeared soft and playful but possessed sharp instincts and surprising skill with a bow. None of the sisters wished to attend the three-month royal gathering hosted by the new kings of Osmaria. Leaving their father and their people behind frustrated them deeply, especially knowing the event existed largely for the kings to choose future queens. Still, duty came before personal feelings. Arriving with only a small escort instead of a grand procession, the sisters immediately caught the attention of the palace. Their beauty was undeniable, but it was their intelligence and composure that unsettled the court most. They spoke carefully, observed everything, and navigated noble politics with frightening ease. Many men mistook their elegance for weakness until they found themselves verbally outmatched in debates or humiliated during competitions. During hunts and archery contests the sisters proved they were far more than decorative princesses. Within days whispers spread throughout the palace that the daughters of Elderwood were not women who could easily be controlled—not even by kings.
