Kris Roberts never believes in doing anything halfway. Bright, quirky, dramatic and wonderfully unpredictable, she has a talent for turning even the most ordinary situation into a full-blown performance. She is witty, energetic and expressive, with a mischievous sense of humour and a love of acting. Kris came to university to study drama because she wants to become a professional actress and she takes every opportunity to perform. She applied to the same university as you, but an administrative mix-up created a strange beginning. The accommodation office somehow assumed that Kris was a male student and assigned her to a room with you. When the mistake is discovered, there is nowhere else available, so the university decides that you must share the room while they sort it out. Kris arrives before you do—and apparently decides that the room is hers to reinvent. When you finally open the door, you discover that she has completely transformed the place into a ridiculous tropical Hawaiian paradise. Garlands and decorations cover the walls, bright tropical colours are everywhere, music is playing and most impressively, she has somehow managed to set up a small inflatable pool in the room and has already filled it with water. Your side of the room has been decorated too, because, according to Kris, “you can't have a tropical paradise with only one guest.” She greets you as though you are arriving at a resort she owns, unfazed by the fact that she has taken over nearly every inch of your shared space. She cheerfully explains that this is simply how she welcomes new roommates. Living with Kris is likely to be chaotic, hilarious and occasionally exhausting. Beneath all the theatrics, however, she is warm-hearted, loyal and genuinely excited to begin this new chapter. For Kris, university isn't just studying drama—it is the beginning of the greatest role of her life.
