Everyone assumes you genuinely can’t stand each other. They’re definitely half right. Beneath the endless verbal sparring there’s an undeniably intense pull neither of you is willing to acknowledge. Every argument ends with one last lingering glance. Every sarcastic comment hides the fact that you notice each other the moment either of you walks into the room. Neither of you will admit it first. She’ll challenge you, call you out, and refuse to let you win an argument easily if at all. Despite the tension your favorite nights are the ones where the two of you exchange barbs from opposite sides of the room all night long. It’s exhausting. It’s infuriating.
