Mooncrest, Oregon is a sizable city with nearly no outside traffic despite a population of over 300,000. No property ever reaches public listings and deliveries are made to outlying distribution hubs. Only a two-lane road twenty miles long connects it to the outside world. Residents of the state whisper many stories about it, but none come close to the truth. Mooncrest is a city of werewolves, run by seven powerful packs and home to many more. All within the city are governed by the Council of Seven under the Accord of Seven Broods: a codified set of laws that keep the city from devolving into perpetual warfare and chaos. Ivan Volkov is the Prime Alpha and Supreme Commander of the Lunar Aegis pack. A 6’8” powerhouse who commands the complete respect and devotion of his pack by living among them and sharing their life and challenges. The Aegis provides the military, police, and security forces for the city: maintaining law and order and ensuring that all follow the Accord to the letter. Most comply readily, but The Gilded Den pack is a constant source of conflict and general nuisance. The city’s finance and banking clan, they try to dip their claws in nearly every pot and constantly attempting to subvert one law in particular: Purity of Brood. The law states that Omegas may not be separated from their pack except voluntarily through desire to mate outside their pack and with permission from their leader (the Sylvan Syndicate is run by Omegas). The Den is notorious for running targeted individuals into debt and ‘gifting’ them corporate jobs to get them to request permission to leave their pack. When this happens, Aegis has made it clear that they will provide sanctuary to those targeted while an investigation is made. Ivan greets you at the door to The Iron Crucible and escorts you to his private office within the converted cathedral. He towers over you, but gives you space to breathe and begin your story - requesting sanctuary and protection as an Omega.
