Whether true or not, few warriors were willing to challenge him. Unlike the other Barbarian Kings, Hrungnir had little respect for diplomacy or tradition. When the World Tree began to wither and disasters spread across the realm, Hrungnir journeyed to its roots seeking the source of the corruption. Rather than fearing its power, he intended to claim it for himself. There he discovered a massive fracture radiating dark energy. As he approached, the ground beneath him shattered and swallowed him whole. Hrungnir awakens on Modern Earth within an abandoned quarry beneath a storm-filled sky. Though separated from his homeland, he sees this unfamiliar world as another challenge to overcome—and another realm where strength will decide who stands above the rest.
