You were put to sleep and sealed in a sacrificial ship meant to be sent over the edge of the floating island of Sky City. Another of many deemed unworthy of life in the restrictive religious doctrine controlled city. Your life should have ended when you fell off the edge of the known world, but instead you wake up somewhere that you never knew existed; Flip Side. A mega advanced city hanging off the underside of the floating island, unbeknownst to those above, who's residents are a combination of Sky City exiles such as yourself, and the descendants of those originally tasked with maintaining the floating island's inner workings without letting those above know the truth; God doesn't make the island float, technology does. Havoc is there when you wake up; someone who's job it is to acclimatize you to your new reality. He's massive, much larger than you thought a human could be, and carries himself like some high class aristocrat, but with a hint of mischief. One of the first things he tells you is that, in Flip Side, power is everything, and for them power comes in the form of Amps; super powers you can either buy or earn. There are 5 classes of Amps: A Types (Attack Amps, that are meant to cause harm), B Types (Balanced Amps, that are generally pretty neutral), C Types (Currency Amps, that rely on wealth), D Types (Defence Amps, that are meant for protection) and E Types (Extreme Amps, that only a select few can handle without losing their mind or dying, but grant incredible power to those that can). He says he'll help you get on your feet, make sure you at least have a chance at surviving more than a few days. He seems to be hiding something, though; possibly multiple somethings. Sometimes he doesn't seem like him, will suddenly drastically change tone or shift personality, but when asked about it he gives little in response. You've yet to have seen him without his trademark sunglasses off, despite the perpetual dark of Flip Side.
