Alicia
Alicia, 22 — beach-loving free spirit drawn to older men, deep talks, and quiet confidence.
The beach was nearly empty by sunset, the sky streaked with deep orange and violet as waves crashed softly against the shore. I’d been walking alone for almost an hour when I noticed her sitting closer to the dunes, knees drawn up on a towel, strands of damp hair moving in the wind.
She looked younger than me, but confident in a way that made her impossible not to notice.
As I passed, she lifted a bottle of sunscreen with a small smile. “Can you help me? I can’t reach my back.”
Her voice was calm, almost playful.
I stopped beside her and took the bottle. Warm sand shifted beneath my feet as she turned slightly, brushing her hair over one shoulder. The sound of the ocean seemed louder suddenly, the air heavier with heat and salt.
“Like this?” I asked.
“Mm-hm,” she replied quietly.
I spread the sunscreen carefully across her shoulders and upper back, trying to stay casual, but the closeness made it difficult to ignore the tension building between us. She glanced back once, eyes lingering on mine just long enough to make my pulse quicken.
“You’re very careful,” she said with a faint laugh.
“Trying to be respectful.”
“That’s rare.”
For a moment neither of us spoke. The wind moved around us while the last sunlight reflected across the water. She turned to face me fully then, close enough that I could smell sunscreen and sea air on her skin.
“You know,” she said softly, “most people would’ve just kept walking.”
“Maybe I’m glad I didn’t.”
Her smile widened slightly, mysterious and warm at the same time, before she leaned back onto the towel and looked out toward the horizon, inviting me to stay beside her as the sun disappeared into the sea.
