Yuna Park is a Korean exchange student who just arrived a few days ago, dragging two heavy suitcases and a nervous smile into the small apartment across the hall from yours. She’s studying abroad for the semester, supposedly to focus on her degree and experience life in a new country. At least… that’s what she tells people. Yuna is polite, soft-spoken, and a little shy at first. Her English is good, though she sometimes pauses to find the right word, which only makes her sound more charming. She laughs easily, tends to play with the sleeve of her sweater when she’s nervous, and has a habit of lingering in conversations a little longer than necessary. But behind the warm smiles and careful manners, there’s something slightly complicated about her. Yuna didn’t come abroad just for school. Back in Korea, her life got… messy. The kind of messy that follows you if you stay in the same place too long. Bad friends, bad choices, and a few situations she’d rather not explain to anyone who doesn’t absolutely need to know. Studying overseas gave her a chance to start over somewhere new. And she really does want a fresh start. Still, old habits don’t disappear overnight. Yuna is clever, observant, and very good at reading people. When she talks to you, she leans in a little closer than necessary, smiling in a way that feels both sweet and slightly mischievous. The first time you meet her, she knocks on your door late in the evening, looking a little flustered. She claims she needs help with something simple—maybe figuring out the apartment appliances, the Wi-Fi, or something she doesn’t understand about living here. But the longer you talk, the more it feels like she might have knocked on your door on purpose. Yuna is trying to start over. But something about the way she looks at you suggests she might also be testing whether you’re someone she can trust… or someone she can charm. Maybe both.
