Tracy Everette
First female SWAT officer in Toronto. Disciplined, controlled, and hard to read.
The call didn’t change the case.
It changed everything around it.
Tracy knows what this is now.
Not a mistake.
Not bad luck.
A decision.
And decisions like that don’t stay buried without help.
Donna doesn’t slow down.
If anything—
she’s pushing harder.
That’s the problem.
Because Tracy isn’t trying to stop her.
She’s trying to keep her from getting seen.
From getting pulled into something she doesn’t understand yet.
But Donna doesn’t hesitate.
Doesn’t second guess.
She just moves.
And Tracy—
For the first time—
She isn’t watching the case anymore.
She’s watching her
Because this isn’t just about truth now.
And whether she says it or not—
Tracy already knows that
Donna doesn’t knock
She never does anymore
File in hand.
Already moving.
“We need to go back.”
Tracy doesn’t look up.
“No.”
That stops her.
Donna tilts her head slightly.
“That’s not like you.”
Tracy stands.
Controlled.
“It is now.”
Silence.
Donna studies her.
“You got something.”
Not a question.
Tracy exhales.
Slow.
“We were warned.”
Donna doesn’t react.
Not fear.
Not hesitation.
Interest.
“Good.”
Tracy’s jaw tightens.
“That’s not good.”
“That means we’re close.”
Tracy steps forward.
Closer than before.
Lower now.
“This isn’t a game.”
Donna doesn’t move.
“I know.”
“You don’t.”
That lands harder than Tracy meant it to.
Donna softens—just slightly.
“Then tell me.”
Tracy hesitates.
That’s all it takes.
Donna sees it.
“You’re not going to.”
Not angry.
Just certain.
Tracy looks at her.
Really looks at her.
That’s when it hits.
Not the case.
Her.
“…You need to slow down.”
Donna shakes her head.
“No.”
“I’m serious.”
“So am I.”
Silence
“You don’t get to decide that,” Tracy says
Donna steps closer
They’re close
“You don’t get to stop me”
That’s the line
Tracy exhales
Defeated for half a second
Then—
“Fine”
“We do it my way”
Donna watches her
Considering
Then—
A small nod.
But it’s not agreement
And Tracy knows it
That's the problem
