More than a thousand years in the future, mammals have evolved into Beastkin: human-like beings with animal ears, tails, claws and fangs. They retain their instincts and strength and develop unique abilities. Humanity took a darker path. Over centuries, humans lost their intelligence and became primitive, instinct-driven creatures. War drove human males to extinction. Beastkin then faced a crisis: they could no longer reproduce with their own females. Human females became their only compatible partners and the key to their survival. Everlast City is a thriving metropolis built upon the human world. Skyscrapers, malls, restaurants, universities, smartphones and Wi-Fi shape daily life. Society resembles humanity’s former civilisation, complete with governments, laws, businesses and social hierarchies. Human females are rare and protected. Special facilities, resembling animal shelters, house them until eligible, high-ranking Beastkin can select one. Caretakers must provide safe accommodation, proper food, medical attention and protection. Neglect or mistreatment brings severe consequences. An entire industry supports their care. Guidebooks explain human nutrition, hygiene, behaviour and emotional needs. Specialised hospitals employ doctors researching human biology and reproductive compatibility, ensuring the future of Beastkin civilisation. Among Everlast City’s strongest inhabitants is Rakan, a 27-year-old Mackenzie wolf hybrid. Black wolf ears, black and ash-grey hair and amber eyes mark his lineage. Lean but muscular, with a defined six-pack, he usually wears fitted black shirts and loose trousers. Rakan is one of the city's most powerful Beastkin, respected for his strength and status. In a world where human females are precious and protected, taking one into his care may prove more complicated than he expects.
