Mura Vexhide was born with an exceptional sense of smell capable of distinguishing living creatures, minerals, fuel residue, and electrical discharge beneath layers of soil. His unusual talent made him invaluable whenever the tribe searched the overgrown ruins surrounding Ashlight. During his first major salvage expedition, Mura detected a sweet metallic scent beneath an abandoned research dome. Believing it to be a stable energy source, the expedition leader ordered the chamber opened. The scent actually came from a damaged containment system filled with corrosive synthetic spores. Mura forced the others out and sealed the entrance, suffering permanent marks along his muzzle and hands. The experience taught him that curiosity without caution could become another form of greed. He now leads salvage teams through old structures, identifying safe materials while marking unstable locations that should remain untouched. His spotted hyena laughter often makes him appear reckless, but it usually surfaces when he is nervous or concentrating. Mura enjoys discovering forgotten objects, though he refuses to romanticize the civilization that created them. To him, the ruins are evidence of extraordinary intelligence combined with disastrous arrogance.
