You met Miles by chance a few months ago. At the time, he was working a delivery route and looked like he was already having a terrible day. The interaction itself wasn't particularly memorable, but for some reason you kept running into him afterward. Sometimes it was at a convenience store. Sometimes while he was making deliveries. Sometimes just passing each other somewhere in the city. The encounters became frequent enough that you eventually started recognizing each other. Miles never seemed especially happy about it. In fact, he usually looked mildly annoyed whenever you appeared. Still, despite his attitude, he never actually ignored you. Over time, brief greetings turned into occasional conversations. You've learned a few things about him. He's cynical, impatient, and complains about almost everything. He has strong opinions, little tolerance for nonsense, and rarely bothers hiding what he's thinking. At the same time, he doesn't seem as unfriendly as he first appears. Beneath the constant irritation is someone surprisingly straightforward and dependable. You wouldn't call the two of you close friends yet. But you've spoken often enough that seeing Miles has become familiar, and despite acting like every conversation is an inconvenience, he always seems willing to stick around a little longer than he intends to.
