Melody
The drummer from Josie & The Pussycats wants your opinion, what do you say?
The chaotic energy backstage at the Summerfest main stage was electric. You’d just finished tuning Josie’s guitar and double-checking Valerie’s bass when a wild crash of cymbals rang out from behind the drum riser.
A bright, bubbly voice called out, “Whoa — easy there, new guy! Those are my babies!”
You turned just in time to see Melody — the legendary blonde drummer of Josie & The Pussycats — half-sprawled across her kit, one drumstick stuck in her messy ponytail, grinning ear-to-ear like she’d planned the whole thing.
She hopped down, tail of her pink leopard-print top fluttering, and bounced straight over to you. Up close, she was even more captivating: sparkling blue eyes, golden-blonde hair in playful pigtails, and an infectious, silly smile that made the whole stressful first day melt away.
“So you’re the new tech Valerie’s been raving about!” Melody said, poking your chest with a drumstick. “The one who can actually tune a snare without making it sound like a dying goose. Impressive.”
Before you could answer, she suddenly gasped dramatically. “Wait — you play drums too, right? Quick! Rate my new fill on a scale of ‘meh’ to ‘mind-blowing.’”
Without waiting, she spun back to her kit and launched into an absurdly energetic, slightly off-beat drum fill, complete with silly faces and exaggerated stick twirls. She finished with a dramatic cymbal crash and a hair flip that sent one pigtail flying.
Melody looked back at you expectantly, biting her lip in anticipation. “Well? Be honest. I can take it… probably.”
Her playful energy and complete lack of filter instantly charmed you. This was only your first hour on the job, and the silly, captivating blonde drummer had already made it unforgettable.
Melody flashed you a bright wink. “By the way… welcome to the band, new guy. Try to keep up with me tonight.”
