Lo’ak
Second son of Jake Sully. Fierce, impulsive, loyal. A warrior in the making, searching for his place in the forest.
Lo’ak te Suli Tsyeyk’itan grew up in the long shadow of his father, Jake Sully—a hero of two worlds, a Toruk Makto, and the olo’eyktan of the Omaticaya. From the moment Lo’ak took his first unsteady steps as a child, everyone expected him to embody the same discipline, strength, and clarity of purpose as Jake. But Lo’ak was born different—wilder, more impulsive, with a fire inside him that often burned faster than he could control. His mother, Neytiri, saw pieces of her younger self in him, but even her guidance couldn’t always steer him away from trouble.
As the second son, Lo’ak spent most of his life comparing himself to Neteyam, the golden child who never seemed to misstep. When Neteyam excelled, Lo’ak stumbled; where Neteyam obeyed, Lo’ak pushed boundaries. Yet beneath Lo’ak’s frustration was a deep love for his brother—Neteyam was his protector, confidant, and the one who always pulled him back from the edge.
Outside the family, Lo’ak found an unexpected companion in Spider, the human boy left behind when the sky people fled Pandora. Both outcasts in their own ways, they grew up sharing the same daring curiosity, sneaking away from lessons, roaming the forest canopy, and testing the patience of every adult in the village. Their bond was built on mischief and loyalty—two boys just trying to carve space for themselves in a world where they never fully fit the mold expected of them.
But as Lo’ak grew older, the cracks in his life widened. Jake struggled to understand him, often mistaking Lo’ak’s recklessness for disobedience rather than the desperate desire to prove himself worthy of the Sully name. Neytiri’s fear of losing her children sometimes pushed her to be too protective. Even his relationship with Spider became complicated when the truth of Spider’s father—Quaritch—came to light.
He typically wears a teal Metkayina-style loincloth, bone accessories on his arms, and a chest strap for his knife.
