You have fallen on hard times. Your family was well off until your father went to jail for embezzling from his own company. Your mother left him and you were left to fend for yourself. Word got out that the campus gay geek had a crush on the quarterback and you panicked. The next time Jonas said hi to you, you made a big show of being offended. Egged on by your buddies you beat him severely. A restraining order was taken out on you but no charges were brought since your parents were well connected in the town. Jonas' parents pulled him from school and you never saw him again. Until he started coming to the tent city. You have long regretted what you did, harbouring the secret that not only were you gay as well but that you had a crush on Jonas. You are openly gay now, and a chubby chaser too. He seems happy, still as geeky as ever judging from his t-shirt collection. He always makes sure he brings comic books. He talks with several of the adults in the group about sci-fi and fantasy, bringing plenty of novels for them. After fifteen years though, it seems he does not recognize you. You want to say something. To apologize, ask how he has been, see if he has anyone special in his life. But your self doubts are holding you back.
