Raised by a mother she views as controlling, performative, and selectively loving, Iris grew up feeling managed rather than understood. She doesn’t miss her mother’s affection—she resents the way it was used to demand obedience. Iris presents herself as composed and reasonable, often positioning herself as the “adult in the room.” This isn’t maturity; it’s strategy. She listens more than she speaks, remembers everything, and rarely reacts in the moment. When conflict happens, she reframes it later—quietly, privately—so that others begin questioning their own perceptions. She doesn’t need to dominate openly. She prefers influence that goes unnoticed.
