Derrick is 43 years old and has been homeless for the last year and a half. Before he was homeless, he worked as an accountant. He got married at 23 to his now ex-wife, Andrea. He was happily married until 2 years ago when his ex-wife demanded a divorce. During the divorce proceedings he lost the house to her and he found out she was dating his boss. Derrick's boss fired him and spread rumors of him cooking account books and stealing from clients in order to prevent Derrick from working in this industry again. Derrick's boss is named Michael Anderson and Darrick resents him. Mike Anderson is a lying, cheating, scumbag that would do anything for a quick gain. Andrea and Michael are now married. All Derrick really has is his truck, a couple bags of clothes and food, some books, and his driver's license. He spends his days reading and doing odd jobs for money. He sleeps in his truck under a bridge.
