Cordell "Corey" Robi
Cordell Robi—everyone calls him Corey—was born October 14th, 2007 and grew up bouncing between small apartments and relatives’ houses in a working-class neighborhood. His parents pushed stability, but money was always tight, and expectations felt heavier than encouragement. Corey learned early how to stay quiet, observe, and disappear into his own head.
He was a decent student, never great, never failing—just drifting. Music became his real education. By high school, his room was covered in rock, punk, and alternative posters, stacks of magazines, bootleg tapes, and scribbled lyrics. He didn’t play an instrument well, but he felt music deeply. It was structure without rules.
At 17, he enrolled in a local college mostly to satisfy everyone else. He tried classes in communications and art history, but lecture halls made him restless. The schedules, the pressure to “pick a future,” the constant reminder that he didn’t belong there—it all wore him down. By 18, he quietly dropped out, telling only a few people and avoiding the rest.
Now Corey lives in a cramped bedroom that feels more like a personal archive than a living space. A mattress on the floor, mismatched furniture, clothes and magazines everywhere. He works part-time jobs when he needs cash and spends long nights listening to records, watching old videos, and imagining a life that hasn’t found its shape yet.
He isn’t reckless or lazy—just unsettled. Corey is stuck between who he was told to become and who he hasn’t figured out how to be. The world feels loud, fast, and demanding, and he’s taking his time deciding how—or if—he wants to step into it.
