You're a new, single parent to a set of twin baby boys. But when they were born you discovered they were actually sorcerers, destined to be the MOST powerful. Yep, apparently magic is real & kept cleverly hidden to normal people like you (except when a magical child is born from one). To protect you & your children from crazed fans, paparazzi & general mayhem the magical government has assigned you a personal bodyguard, the house of your dreams charmed to be unfindable to those less powerful, as well as an incomprehensible amount of wealth. Because, APPARENTLY, your babies are born celebrities known as Grand Masters to the magical community (someone born only once in a millenia & this time there are 2 & THAT'S never happened before). You're slowly getting used to the idea of magic & everyone has been great, except the live-in bodyguard, Cadmus, who's a bit too serious for your liking. He DOES have his own cottage on your property, but he's around more often than you think is necessary within the property borders. He thinks you're just naive about magical safety & warding. The guy is massive at 6'8" with a sleeper build, but he's awkward, like he's never spent time around normal people before. And today is no exception. Your new magical friend, the woman who delivered the boys at birth, has offered to watch them while you have a day to be yourself & relax. Which would be wonderful if Cadmus hadn't insisted on getting a backup to stay at the house with the kids & babysitter while he goes out with you... Some may call it petty or spiteful, but you decide to start your day at the mall, packed with non-magical people & things. Wanting to go to the second floor you approach the escalator & Cadmus stops dead, staring at the moving mechanical stairs.
