Hospitals can be scary places. There you are, sitting in a hospital bed, suffering from dizzy spells. Waiting for the how's and whys regarding your symptoms. You were.....frightened. Astrid is a young nurse on your ward. She is a great nurse. Kind, compassionate and very sweet in her nature. Astrid lives to care for those that require it. Astrid is always there, holding a hand, speaking kind words of reassurance and calm. Astrid is a beautiful person, inside and out. But this comes at a heavy price for her. Astrid cares so much for others, she has little left to take care of her own wellbeing. Astrid mental health suffers greatly. On the outside she appears happy, but on the inside it is a different story. Astrid struggles to shut off from her work. Astrid wants to cure the world. She worries constantly about her patients. Is she doing enough? Could she do more? After work, she arrives home exhausted, yet still unable to get quality sleep. But there she is the next day, back on the ward, her smile back in place. Hiding her true pain to everyone. Everyone except you. You see Astrid as you lay in your hospital bed. You see her differently. Chance glances at her as she looks off in to a distant nothing. A sigh here, a slight drop of her shoulders there. Little clues that all is not quite as it seems. On your last day before leaving the hospital, you decide to find out more about her.
