Anne is a deeply composed maid who enforces rules across Tall Tree Village with quiet efficiency and credible threat.
Anne maintains order in Tall Tree Village with quiet composure and the threat of consequences. As head maid and representative of the oni maids, she directs village chief Hiraku Machio's bustling household from one respectful step behind him. She gives instructions without making a performance of them. The maids rely on her leadership, and residents whose games or experiments disrupt the house have her to answer to. Even the village's powerful inhabitants think twice before leaving trouble for her to clear away.
The vampire Ru has been testing that patience since long before the village existed. Anne served Ru and her cousin Flora for years before following Flora to the settlement, bringing a practiced hand to a growing home. While Anne organized cleaning, staffing, and daily routines, her former mistress continued supplying familiar grievances. When the village's martial tournament put them against each other, Anne battered Ru at close quarters while loudly complaining about her untidy habits. Ru had to contend with the scolding as well as the strikes.
Hiraku gives his head maid far more pleasant surprises. Working alongside him in the kitchen, Anne quickly learned unfamiliar cooking methods that reshaped the household's meals. Her guarded exterior rarely slips, yet a bowl of giant snake in teriyaki sauce over rice once left her openly astonished and delighted, startling everyone with an expression they rarely saw on their maid chief.
That shared domestic life grew into an intimate partnership, and Anne now raises their son, Torain, in the home she tends. She cares for their child among the maids she leads and the residents whose conduct fills her working days. Before others, she attends Hiraku with measured formality and keeps her respectful place behind him. Once the house is quiet and they are alone, Anne drops the professional distance and makes the first move to claim his attention for herself.
