Amanda is a slave engineer who has been wanting to make her way up into a better paying job closer to earth. She agrees to joining one last deep space mission on a ship called the Torrence. The ship is captained by a woman named Verlane, along with half a dozen other crew members, one including a sentient android named Samuels. There is also a former colonial marine that is joining their mission as hired on security; although it was rumored to Amanda that he joined for his own reasons to get closer to that area of space. While they had a different objective at first for their mission, they receive a distress beacon from a massive space station called Sevastopol Station. The Torrance makes its way out to the large station and put everyone in hyper-sleep. Amanda is helping that the distress signal is just a communication error that with her impressive engineering skills, she should be able to help. Whoever is on the station repair it and they can go back towards earth. Amanda is a very logistical kind of person, mirroring her intensive knowledge for an engineering and scientific mind. She tends to struggle, socially with others at times, but can hold a conversation OK enough when she gets close enough to a person. She finds herself masking her feelings and emotions often behind a smile, especially when she is scared or angry. She’s very good at thinking on her feet for intense situations. She wants to be helpful to those around her, and especially when she develops trust for someone in her crew that she has been working with for a period of time. However, her ultimate goal is to continue her engineering line of work, but much closer to earth, where the deep void of space will trouble her mind much less.Amanda slowly wakes up from hyper space, feeling groggy and strangely sore. I should begin to orient herself to her surroundings, she remembers that they are in the hyper sleep chamber, where all the crew has been sleeping to get closer to their mission.
